Feedback Strategies

Be a Mirror: Give Readers Feedback That Fosters A Growth Mindset I enjoyed this because it focuses more on how to mold children's minds into thinking they can accomplish anything. Children's minds are incredibly malleable and the way they are praised can affect what they think of themselves. If a child's mind is fixated on a certain point in life, they may not flourish into their full potential, but if they are pushed down the right path with the right encouragement, they will be able to prosper into someone much better. I like the analogy of a mirror giving feedback in exact reflection without any judgement. Children need to be reassured, encouraged, and uplifted in order to hold a positive self-concept about themselves and have strong self-esteem. If they are not able to have this, it will be harder for children to show off who they really are. The second article I read was The difference between Praise and Feedback . This article was very interesting to me ...

Week 3 Topic research: Death Stories

Image
The first story I think I could use as one of my stories is Battle with Khara.  This story is short, but has great action, and has a revenge factor to it. Khara wanted to avenge his brothers death, but Rama was able to shoot his arrow and kill him instantly. Rama wanted to protect Sita while he was out shooting the demons, so she was in a cave awaiting the battle. The battle was won by Rama, and Sita embraced Rama by giving him a kiss. The second story I think I could see myself using as one of my stories is The Golden Deer  (The chase). This story is very interesting, and involves death. Maricha transformed into this beautiful deer so that he could be spotted by Sita. After running around the forest, Rama was eventually able to kill the deer. (Maricha) Maricha was assigned the task of luring Rama away from Sita, so Sita could get abducted. This story is very interesting, and is a death story I could see myself doing. The last story I think I could see myself using as o...

Week 3 Story: Denise and the Dinosaurs

Image
Along the ancient rivers roamed tons and tons of dinosaurs, ranging from big ones, little ones, young ones, and the very old ones. They all had one goal and it was to win over Denise. Denise was the queen of the ancient rivers, and was one that everyone drooled over. She was very pretty with dark green eyes, a beautiful smile, and was liked by everyone. Denise on the other hand, struggled to find her king because of her high standards, so she made it a competition. "Alright everyone, listen up. In order for me to find my King, there is one thing I need everyone to do." yelled Denise. "Do you see that lion walking around on the other side of the river. Whoever can kill him and bring him back to me will win over my heart" commanded Denise. This caught the attention of almost every dinosaur roaming around the river because this was their chance to impress Denise, and finally have that shot they have been dreaming of. Many of the dinosaurs started immediately after he...
