Feedback Thoughts

The first article I ended up reading was "Seven ways to crush Self-Doubt."  This article was really interesting to me because I can relate to most of the things on this article. I sometimes struggle with self-doubt, and I would assume most people do as well. It is important that you don't compare yourself to others because that can bring you down, and to abandon the phrase perfectionism because that is not someone that is real. If you are able to believe in yourself, and don't compare yourself to others you can crust self-doubt. The second article I ended up reading was "Why rejection hurts so much."  I also found this article to be interesting because it is also something I can relate to. Rejection can be a good thing, but the way that people accept rejection needs to change in some way. Although rejection does hurt, it is a good learning experience and ultimately makes you a stronger and makes you want to change for the better.           ...

Topic Brainstorm Project

Image
I think a project topic I would be interested in doing this semester would be " Death stories ." These are stories that fascinate me because life and death are the only things that are certain in our lifetime, and we really don't know what exactly happens to us after it. I do not have any previous knowledge pertaining to Indian culture, but reading over the stories have really made me want to dive deeper in the meaning of death. I think I could see myself telling a story in like a short composition. The second project topic that really caught my interest for the brainstorm assignment would have to be "Food."  I really enjoy trying new foods, and allowing myself to branch off of from the usual. This topic really interests me because I love seeing different cultures, and all the different foods they have to offer. I am somewhat familiar with this topic, although I have never been to an Indian restaurant, I would to go and explore their cultural history. I also lov...

The Dolphin and the Minnow: Week 2 story

Image
Once upon a time, in the deep dark sea, was a dolphin and a minnow. They weren't the greatest of friends, but they could sometimes tolerate each other because they didn't really come across each other that often. The dolphin usually had that look in his eye that he wanted no part of anything, he just wanted to be left alone. The minnow had a different idea. He wanted to annoy him until they got into a fight. "Looks like you have gained a lot of weight since the last time iv'e seen you." exclaimed the minnow. "What's your issue today? That's why i'm never interested in talking to you." said the dolphin. Comments like these continued to go on for days, even weeks, and nothing would ever happen. The minnow would continue his smack talk towards the dolphin, but the dolphin would just swim away like nobody was even talking. The minnow didn't know what else he could do that would annoy the dolphin, so he came up with a new solution. "Can...

Week 2 Reading Anthology Notes

The Foolish, Timid Rabbit by Ellen C. Babbitt : A sleeping rabbit awoke from a startling noise right after he asked himself "what if the world should break up!" "What then would come of me?" Little did the rabbit know that a coconut fell just behind him. But that did not stop this rabbit. He was thinking the worst possible situation. "the earth is all breaking up." He then started to quickly run away from the tree he was sleeping under because he thought the earth was breaking up. Many others rabbits were paranoid to see this rabbit going max speed, so they quickly joined with him. Along the way, the group of rabbits came across a deer and also joined them with no questions asked. Soon after a fox was called over to join to pack, along with an elephant because they didn't know what was happening. The lion was the only one left, but did not fall for the overreaction from the other animals. He went back to the place the rabbit was sleeping, and saw the...

Week 2 Reading Overview

Image
Out of the two options that were offered, I chose to read Tiny Tales from the Ramayana. I chose this reading because I thought it was very cool that our own teacher wrote it. It was a no brainer that this was the one I would chose because I really enjoy more of a backstory, and like that it was a new option this semester. The first comic book that caught my attention was the Pandava Princes: Pandu's five brave sons . I thought this story was very interesting and odd that Draupadi became the wife of all five brothers. I also like when there is conflict in the story. The second book that caught my attention was the comic Ancestors of Rama: A Noble inheritance.  I thought this one was interesting because there was a curse casted upon Dilipa because he was flirting with his young bride, causing him to potentially not have many children. I also really liked the cover of the book because I love animals. While looking at the different videos, one of the first ones that stood out wa...
